#tdih On April 15, 1967, amidst growing opposition to the U.S. war in Vietnam, large-scale anti-war protests were held in New York, San Francisco, and many other cities.

Middle school teacher Kipp Dawson (21 years old at the time) wrote to us about her role as one of the leaders of the San Francisco protest and how she was targeted by the House Committee on Un-American Activities (HUAC) as a result. Read more below. Photos by Harvey Richards.
