Finland has provided them to all new mothers for decades. Now Ohio, New Jersey and Alabama are experimenting with them as a way to encourage practices and reduce SIDS. Designed as safe sleep spaces, they come with a firm foam mattress and tight-fitting sheet, breastfeeding accessories, a onesie, diapers and wipes.
